ELDER JASON L. JOHNSON
Pastor Jason L. Johnson is a native of Charles County, Maryland and the Washington DC area, where he was born and raised. He’s happily married to his loving wife Kim, and is the father of two children: Kashay and Justin.
Pastor Johnson is the founder and president of the Abundant Life Evangelistic Ministry, Inc. in Biloxi, MS. Under his leadership, Abundant Life is one of the “most” progressive churches in the area as they fulfill their vision to “Bring Life To the City”. His presence is known throughout the Gulf Coast region by his weekly “Life to the City” radio and television broadcasts. Abundant Life is known for breaking barriers and achieving goals and reaching the community. Pastor Johnson has been awarded the Distinguished Service Award by the NAACP, Biloxi Branch for his community involvement. The Mayor of Biloxi commended Pastor Johnson and Abundant Life for their positive influence on the Gulf Coast.
He honorably served 10 years in the U. S. Air Force as an Air Traffic Controller and Master Instructor. While in the Air Force, he received many awards and graduated with academic achievements and distinguished graduate awards. After separating from active duty, he continued to teach Air Traffic Control as a Civilian GS-9 Instructor for 8 years until pursuing ministry “full-time.” His academic achievements consist of the following degrees: Associates Degree in Instructor Technology of Military Science (June 1992), Associates of Arts Degree from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College (December 2004), and a Bachelors Degree in General Studies from William Carey University (May 2006). He successfully completed 3 years of ministry correspondence training through Jericho Christian College, Washington DC.
Pastor Johnson has been used of God to preach, teach, and train disciples in the U.S. and overseas. His ministry experience began at the age of 18 shortly after accepting the Lord as his Savior and receiving the Baptism of the Holy Ghost. He has served under the leadership of the late Bishop A. L. Pressley and other anointed men of God as an Associate Minister, Sunday School Superintendent, Youth Minister, Psalmist, and Bible Teacher.
He designed and managed the construction of a new edifice, located at 172 Rodenberg Avenue, Biloxi, Mississippi. This project captured the attention of the media through radio, television, and the local newspaper. Additionally, he organized phase II and III of this project and led the church into a rapid debt payoff within 17 months. He continued to expand the ministry with a Phase IV Youth Wing expansion in 2004. In April 2006, he rallied the ministry again to purchase 4.5 acres of land in the heart of Biloxi. This new parcel of land is the future site of Abundant Life’s Family Life Center and recreational facility.
Pastor Johnson is one of the Organizing Board Members of Kingdom Council of Interdependent Christian Ministries (KCICCM), San Antonio, Texas. He's the Chairman of the Gulf Coast Interdependent Fellowship (GCIF) and the Chairman of the Biloxi Clergy Crisis Team. These organizations consist of various denominations on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Pastor Johnson was instrumental in the recovery efforts of the Mississippi Gulf Coast after Hurricane Katrina. He immediately worked with state and city officials in their plans to rebuild a ravaged city. He directed and coordinated a food distribution center and assisted other professionals in the recovery process of Mississippi. Pastor Johnson organized the Nehemiah Team to help rebuild the community.
He is truly a man of integrity with a desire to share the message of deliverance, abundance, and holiness to the world. He believes in changing the world, one city at a time, by the life changing Word of God and the anointing of God.
